Barbara A. Sharples was born December 27, 1925, in Boston to Allan H. and Alice L. Merrill. She was raised in Milton, Mass. After graduating in 1943, she worked for John Hancock Inc., and then Robert Hall Clothing Co. She married James R. Sharples on August 26, 1955. After her husband retired from the Navy, the family lived in Derry and Londonderry. In 1988, they retired to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she volunteered at the Naval pharmacy for years. She was a past president of the Fleet Reserve Aux 94 in Corpus and was also a Sunday School teacher and Girl Scout leader in Derry. She worked at Klev Bro Dhoe in Derry for years.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, A. Scott Merrill; and her husband, James R. Sharples on January 15, 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Jami Camino of South Carolina and Suzanne Grossi (Jimmy) of Illinois; four grandsons, Tory Grossi of Illinois, Shane, Justin (Tracy) Allaire and Brandon (Heather); two great-grandchildren, Gianna Grossi of Illinois and Ben Allaire of New Hampshire.
