Bernard H. “Ben” Plocharczyk, 94 of Derry, N.H., died Thursday August 28, 2014, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Plocharczyk was born in Derry on January 20, 1920, a son of the late Josef and Elenora (Grzegorczyk) Plocharczyk. He was a 1938 graduate of Pinkerton Academy and was employed in footwear manufacturing for Genesco and Stride Rite Corp. Mr. Plocharczyk served with the US Marine Corp during WWII. He enjoyed gardening and always maintained a vegetable stand.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Claire (Colbert) Plocharczyk of Derry; two sons, Robert W. Plocharczyk and his wife Jean, and Stephen J. Plocharczyk and his wife Sandra; four grandchildren, Scott Plocharczyk, Todd Plocharczyk, Allison Connor, and Sarah Duhaime; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Connor, Emily Connor, Kyle Plocharczyk, Julia Duhaime, and Charles Duhaime. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward, John, Adolph, Helen, Sally, Mary and Florence.
