Bonnie (Florence)'s Story

Bonnie (Florence) Rowe, a longtime resident of Chester, N.H., and Moultonborough, N.H., passed away on August 23, 2016. Bonnie was born on July 10, 1940, in Weymouth, Mass., to the late Eileen (Simons) and the late Arthur Justice. Bonnie received her BS at Boston University, her M.Ed. from Rhode Island College and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Leslie College. Bonnie was a lifelong early childhood educator, starting her early career teaching Head Start in Providence, R.I., and then teaching in a Title 1 program in Melrose, Mass., and finally teaching first grade at the Atkinson and Bradstreet schools in No. Andover, Mass., until she retired in 2005. Bonnie was active in the Mass Association for the Education of Young Children where she held executive roles. She also held teaching appointments at Rhode Island College and Lesley University. Bonnie loved spending time with her family which included entertaining at her home on the lake in Moultonborough, visiting friends, family, and grandchildren, and traveling in the U.S. and abroad. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Lynda Rowe and her children, Sara Rudolph, Hannah Rudolph, and Jonathan Rudolph; and son, Gary Rowe and his children, Laurel Rowe, Baraka Spiess-Rowe, Phoebe Rowe and Lucy Rowe. She is also survived by her siblings, Jimmy Justice, Sharon Schena, Richard Justice, and Laurie MacDonald.
A memorial service will take place in late fall for friends and family to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to Boston University College of Arts and Sciences.
