Constance R.'s Story

Constance R. Boisvert, 82, of Darren Drive, Raymond, N.H., died Monday morning at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H., after a long bout with cancer. She was the wife of Raymond M. Boisvert, who passed in 2002. Connie was born in Haverhill, Mass., on March 11, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Guay) Willette.
She grew up and attended grammar school in Haverhill and was a 1951 graduate of Haverhill High. Connie loved reading, dancing, feeding the birds, and watching Jeopardy. She once auditioned for the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, only to find out she wasn’t quite tall enough.
Connie and Ray met rollerskating and were married in 1955. They were the caretakers of the Rocky Hill Meetinghouse in Amesbury, Mass., for many years. Connie was employed by Shaw’s Supermarket for 32 years, working at both the Newburyport, Mass., and Derry, N.H., locations. Connie loved dressing up for Halloween and frequently won “best costume” in Shaw’s annual contest.
Connie is survived by her four children, Paula Burke (Sean) of Olympia, Wash.; Steven Boisvert (Hyang) of Bow, N.H.; Vicki Croteau (William) of Amesbury, Mass.; and Carla Smith (Tim) of Fremont, N.H. One of Connie’s greatest pleasures was being a memere. She had eight granddaughters, whom she loved “as much as much," Kerith Burke, Lauren Estenson, Jean Ivey, Sarah Croteau, Aimee Croteau, Taylor Berry, Kamryn Berry, and Erica Smith. She spent many hours with the girls reading, making puzzles and watching old movies. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Smith; and brothers, Arnold Willette and Donald Willette. Her sister, Lorraine Thibodeau and brothers, Arthur Willette and Robert Willette, predeceased her.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury. Her funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph's cemetery in Amesbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Their wonderful volunteers often provided transportation to Connie’s radiation appointments.
