DERRY, NH: Elizabeth L. “Betty” Norcott, 100, of Derry, N.H., passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., on June 21, 1915, a daughter of the late Homer and Katheryn (Bosse) Brayton. She had been a long time resident of Milton, Mass., before moving to Derry 10 years ago. She was a very generous, kind-hearted woman. Betty enjoyed learning about the people in her life and keeping up with all the things that were important to them. She loved to read and do crossword puzzle, read her Bible daily and enjoyed memorizing Bible psalms well into her 90s. Betty will be remembered as the loving matriarch, who held her family together.
She is survived by her four beloved children, Katheryn Cuneo and her husband, Larry, Robert Norcott and his wife, Kathie, William Norcott and his wife, Hsiu, and Deborah Hamilton and her husband, Gary; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her brother, David F. Brayton. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Lewis H. Norcott, Jr.; and her son, Lewis H. Norcott, III.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 11 a.m., in the Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Rd, Derry NH, and were followed by a reception. Friends gathered at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral. The burial will be on Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m., in the Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton, MA.
