Gaetano "Guy"'s Story
DERRY, NH - Gaetano "Guy" P. Tomaselli, 95, of Derry, N.H., died Wednesday December 13, 2017. He was born in Lawrence to the late Joseph and Mary Tomaselli. Guy was a resident of Derry since 1949. He was a US Army veteran, serving during WWII. Early on, he was a baker and owner of the Home Food Kitchen Bakery in Derry and then worked for Merrimac Tile Co. for 50 years. He served the Town of Derry as a call fireman with the Derry Fire Dept. Guy was also the President of the Derry Kiwanis Club, was a member of the American Legion Post #9 in Derry, and served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus through St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Hoodkroft Country Club. He loved to eat at the Derry Pizza, shop at Market Basket, and even worked as a bagger at 93 years old. He was driving and living alone, and got the local paper at the Rotary Mobil at 5 a.m. every day, up to two weeks ago. He loved spending time with his family and many visits with his "special nieces," and Godchildren.
He is survived by his son, Richard P. Tomaselli and his wife, Mary of Rotonda West, Fla.; his daughter, Maureen Marino and her husband, Joseph of Haverhill, Mass.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Ann (Indoccio) Tomaselli in 2010, and a daughter, Sandra Buonanno in 2001.
