George R.'s Story
George R. Racicot, 80, of Londonderry, died August 23, 2016 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, after a long period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on August 7, 1936 to Arthur and Elzire (Jobin) Racicot. He lived in Manchester and Londonderry for all of his life.
George served in the New Hampshire Army National Guard for two years. He worked as an orderly at the former Notre Dame Hospital, in the shoe industry and Genest Bakery all in Manchester, then at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
He was a Scout Master for Troop 118 at St. Anthony Church in Manchester and for Troop 426 in Londonderry. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol.
George enjoyed fishing, cooking, conversing with people via CB radio and telling a good story. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings.
The family includes his wife of 60 years, Pauline “Polly” Racicot of Londonderry; four children, Diane Jones of Newmarket, Richard Racicot and his wife, Glenys, of Loudon, Paul Racicot and his wife, Joyce, of Newmarket and Suzanne Giardino and her husband, Carl, of Windham; eight grandchildren, Jessica, James, Robert, Kelley and her husband, Sean, Brian, Catherine, Talia and C.J.; his beloved pets, Murphy and Boots; a sister-in-law, Joan Shea of Colorado; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were Sunday, August 28, and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 29.
