FREMONT, NH: Howard A. Hamblett, 91, died June 2, at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, N.H., following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 4, 1923 in Derry, N.H. and lived there most of his life. He was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Kelley) Hamblett. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1940.
Howard worked much of his life as a salesman. A large part of his career was at Merrimack Valley Wood Products until his retirement in 1985.
He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and in his leisure time enjoyed listening to his collection of Big Band era music.
He is survived by his son, Mark and his wife, Paula Hamblett of Sandown, N.H. and his son, Paul Hamblett and his wife, Sue Haberstroh of New Castle, N.H. Howard was “Grampa Spice” to his three grandchildren, Heidi Hamblett of Portsmouth, N.H., Graham Hamblett and his wife, Annie of Milton, Del. and Stacey Hamblett of Portsmouth, N.H.
Howard was predeceased by his wives, Lucille (Parker) Hamblett, Evelyn (Noble) Hamblett and Ann (Borski) Hamblett.
There will be no calling hours or memorial service. The family will have a special day of remembrance later this year. Donations in Howard’s memory can be made to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech St., Framingham, MA 01702.
