Jason Robert's Story
Jason Robert Flood, 18, of Derry, N.H., passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016. He was born on March 5, 1998, in Beverly, Mass., the only son of Douglas and Danielle Flood and brother of Malarie. Jason graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 2016 and was a member of the National Technical Honor Society, JV soccer team and Pinkerton Chorale. Jason started working the day after graduation in the warehouse for Monkey Sports and was looking forward to a new career with a steel design company using the CAD skills he acquired at Pinkerton Academy. Jason also loved music and performing, whether it be at the Coffee Factory’s open mic night, Pinkerton Academy Chorale with NH Philharmonic, and Pinkerton’s performance of Beauty and the Beast. Affectionately known as “Floody” by his close friends, he helped form many a garage band MKAO, Gundrum, and Floody and the BP’s. He was proud to perform at Canobie Lake Park’s Battle of the Bands, Tupelo Hall, and most recently a charity fundraiser at Fuscofest.
Jason was a very caring and sensitive person who was always ready to cheer you up with his quick wit, infectious smile, and a great big hug.
In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his grandparents, Diane McCarthy and the late Chick McCarthy of Melrose, Mass., and Tom and Diane Flood of Strafford, N.H.; his uncles and aunts, Sean and Missy McCarthy of Marlborough, Mass., Greg and Michele Duggan of Pelham, N.H.; and cousins Thomas, Averie, Meredith, and Owen.
