WINDHAM: Jeanne Lussier McCartin, 91, died July 1, 2015, surrounded by family in Exeter, N.H. Jeanne was born in Somerville Mass., in 1924.
She lived in Billerica and Lowell Mass., and raised her family of nine children in Windham, N.H., with her husband, Robert A McCartin Sr. She later resided in Antrim, N.H, North Fort Myers, Fla., and Exeter, N.H.
Jeanne is remembered for her participation in social and civic organizations. She served as Chairperson of the Windham Women’s Club Town Common Committee, participated in the installation of a mural in Antrim, taught CCD at St Thomas Aquinas Church, was a longtime parishioner of St Matthew’s Parish, a Den Mother, and 4H Leader and was active in many clubs and organizations in Florida.
Her sense of humor, generosity, creative spirit, and love of family defined her.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sr. in 1992; and son, Robert Jr. in 2013.
She leaves behind eight children, Lisa McCartin of Farmington, N.H., Jeanne McCartin of Portsmouth, N.H., Barbara McCartin of Toccoa, G., Mary-Jo Carroll and husband, Terry, of Hanover, N.H., Virginia McCartin of Dallas, Julie McCartin of Hendersonville, N.C., Jacqueline McCartin of Hooksett, N.H., and Joseph McCartin of Westport, Conn.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Betty Hayes and Richard Lussier; and sister-in-law, Mary Lussier reside in Florida.
