Joan Paduchowski, 72, of The Village of Oak Creek, Ariz., passed away peacefully December 9, 2016, after her courageous battle with cancer.
Joan was born October 8, 1944, in Scranton, Pa., to the late Tony and Rose Zywicki. After a career as a Junior High School English teacher in New Hampshire, she and her husband, Don, retired to The Village of Oak Creek in 2008.
Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with Don, visiting the National Parks and Forests of the west. Joan was active in the Firecliff Development Board of Directors and worked as a substitute teacher at St. Joseph's School in Cottonwood. Joan was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Sedona.
Joan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Don; her son, Daniel and his wife, Kelly; her daughter, Kristen; her grandson, Patrick and his girlfriend, Jessie; as well as her newest grandson, Orion. Joan is also survived by her sister, Maryellen Ceddia; and her three daughters, Jenna, Carla and Laina.
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Joan's name to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 612, Sedona, AZ 86339.
