Derry, NH — Lorraine T. Messina, 81, of Derry, N.H., died Monday, August 11, 2014, at Villa Crest Nursing Home, Manchester, N.H. Mrs. Messina was born in West Roxbury, Mass., on March 24, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Gerard and Lillian (Levesque) Lavoie. She resided in Derry for 45 years, formerly living in Lawrence and Methuen, Mass. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her six children, Nina Dunbar and her husband, Scott, of Derry, N.H., Steven Messina and his wife, Laura, of Bretton Woods, N.H., Debra Brien and her husband, Michael, of Meredith, N.H., Samuel Messina and his wife, Johanna Zabriskie of Ipswich, Mass., Bernard “Joey” Levesque of Belmont, N.H., and Lisa Saffie of Windham, N.H.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, with whom she shared a very special bond, Gerard “Junior” Lavoie of Tampa, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Holly Ann Misserville, in 1974.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call on Thursday, August 14, from 9 to 10 a.m., in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will follow, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
