Marianne Margaret DeWyngaert

Derry, NH - Marianne M. (O’Connell) DeWyngaert, 77, of Derry, N.H., passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019, with her daughter by her side. Marianne was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on August 13, 1941, the daughter of the late Margaret and Walter Culkin. She was lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Ann and John McCance. Marianne was employed as an accountant with CET Technology in Windham for many years. She loved animals, visiting Foxwoods, supporting our veterans, music, dancing, the movies, and her time with family and friends. She will forever be remembered as a loving companion, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and basketball fan, who cherished her family above all.
Marianne leaves behind her companion of 30 years, George J. Grenier and his loving family; her three children, son, John P. O’Connell and his wife Sharon of Plymouth, Mass., daughter and best friend Mary E. (O’Connell) Merrill of Derry, and son Denis J. O’Connell Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Alva, Fla. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlin, Andrew, Matthew and Joey; and her three great-grandchildren, Michael, Luca, and Avery. Also survived by her beloved cousin Regina Congo of Epsom, N.H., and her dear friend Debbie Cook of Atkinson, N.H. Marianne was predeceased by her twin sons, Joseph B. O’Connell (1976) and James A. O’Connell (1986); and her husband Robert DeWyngaert (1992).
There will be no calling hours. The family would like you to join them to celebrate this amazing woman on Saturday, February 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Tuscan Kitchen, 67 Main St., Salem, NH. Aunt Lexi, you truly were one in a million! Through your devastating losses in your life, you were simply a true warrior. You treated every one in your path with open arms, respect and love. Your happy spirit and laughter brought joy to everyone who had the honor of knowing you. You taught each of us compassion and respect. I can only imagine the sheer joy which your boys had when you arrived in paradise! Love you so much
