Marilyn Joan's Story
Marilyn Joan (DiSilva) Rossetti of Chester, passed away from Cancer on Monday, May 8, 2017. Known to many as “Mimi,” Marilyn was born in Somerville, Mass. to the late Frances (Messer) Disilva and Cosmo DiSilva. Before moving to Chester, N.H. she graduated from Winchester High School in Winchester, Mass.
Marilyn was very involved in her community and was active in her church communities over the years. She served as a Ballot Clerk for the Town of Chester and was also an aide at the Chester Public Library. She was co-owner of Reflections of Chester Restaurant with her daughter and was named the Lion’s Club “Woman of the year” in 2013. Marilyn’s generous spirit and sense of humor touched everyone she came in contact with.
She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Rossetti and her Daughter Lisa Rossetti. She is survived by her sister, Janet Carney and her brother, Charles DiSilva, her daughters, Lori Child of Chester, and Melissa Folini and her husband, Michael of Chester, and her pride and joy, grandson R.J. Child currently serving as a Seabee in the United States Navy, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours were held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, N.H. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial followed in Great Hill Cemetery, Chester.
