Osborn Everett Stone (Oz), died Wednesday, November 9, while surrounded by family in Brookhaven, N.Y., at the home of his daughter, Jaye Wilbur.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara M. (Joslyn) Stone; three daughters, Jaye Wilbur and husband Jay of Brookhaven, N.Y., Dee Floyd and husband Bob of Homosassa, Fla., and Kay Windsor and husband Bob of Winchester, Va.; seven grandchildren, Sarah Wallace, Peter Whitten, Rachel Feldman, Trevor Neitz, Stacy Petersheim, Jack Wilbur and Blair Wilbur; four great-grandchildren and other family members and special friends.
Born and raised in Derry, N.H., son of Everett C. and E. Marjorie (Osborn) Stone, he spent the majority of his life in Derry until, due to health reasons, he and his wife moved to Brookhaven in June 2015.
Oz served four years in the Army Air Corp during WWII and three years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Sanders Associates (Lockheed Martin) at the age of 72.
He was an avid skier for many years, a member of the New Hampshire Archaeological Society. He loved to golf and had several other hobbies and interests.
At his own request, Oz was cremated with no funeral service. A family gathering is planned in the summer.
