Patricia Lois Valdes

Events

Atkinson, NH - On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Patricia Lois (Jones) Valdes died in her home of 54 years while holding the hand of her soulmate and husband of sixty-eight years and surrounded by members of her family.
She was born on February 15, 1943, to the late Helen Lois (Deming) Jones in Springfield. Most of her childhood was spent in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1960. She met the love of her life, Alejandro "Lilo" Valdes, in 1958 and they married one month after her graduation from High School. They moved to their current home in Atkinson in 1965.
After working at several locations in the Merrimack Valley, she began working with her mother in the Dietary Department of Lawrence General Hospital. She soon moved to the, then, new Data Processing Department and remained on the job for a career total of 38 years.
Though they never had children of their own, Patricia and Alejandro quickly became family favorites of their many nieces and nephews. They could always count on "Auntie" Pat for back to school shopping, an extra Christmas stocking or a fun-filled Easter egg hunt. Her witty one liner's, belly laughs and huge smile at the head of the holiday table will be forever remembered.
Her life's mantra of "It is what it is" helped support her through the last weeks of her life often with a glass of wine in one hand and her husband's hand in the other, all the while maintaining that incredible smile.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents, her brother-in-law Domingo Valdes, sister-in-law Cecelia Valdes and her sister-in-law Martha Ann (Fieldhouse) Jones. She leaves behind her husband Alejandro Valdes of Atkinson, her brother, George P. Jones, III of Sumner, ME, half brother David Jones of NJ, half-sisters Veronica Bozeman of NJ, Diane Bozeman of SC and Alfina Hopkins-Wasnuk of TX, brother-in-law Evangelio Valdes Diaz of Haverhill and sister-in-law Obdulia Vales of Orlando, FL. Additionally, she leaves Nephews George P. IV, Thayer A. and Timothy K. Jones, Carlos I., Alex, and Hector L. Valdes, and nieces Rebecca A. Jones and Jackie Valdes. There are numerous additional grandnieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.
The family requests that instead of flowers donations be made to either the National MS Society https://www.nationalmssociety.org/ or the Dana Farber Cancer Institute https://www.dana-farber.org/.
A service to celebrate the lives of Patricia and her sister-in-law, Martha Ann (Fieldhouse) Jones will take place at the First Congregational Church, 15 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019.
