Philip Robert's Story
Philip Robert Johnson, 79, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died Wednesday, August 10, 2017 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice. Formerly of Derry, N.H. he had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the past 23 years.
Philip was born April 6, 1938 in Albany, N.Y. a son of the late Daniel and Naomi (Demolis) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology: Lincoln Laboratory for over 20 years. He retired as Director of Information Technology from Digital Equipment Corporation. Philip was a car fanatic who enjoyed racing cars as well as being a fan of the sport. He was also an avid fisherman, loved to read and adored cats.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Sandra (Chase) Johnson; children, Kimberly (David) Barnaby of Derry, N.H., Jeff Crocker of Manchester, N.H. and Jennifer (John) Liddy of Winchester; sister, Linda (Wayne) Stickney of Naples, Fla.; brother, William Johnson of Concord, N.H.; grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Barnaby, Kayleigh and Sarah Crocker, and Alexandra and Joshua Liddy; and cats, Zeva and Sam.
A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, Naples, Fla. and will be announced.
