WINDHAM, NH : Rita L. Rother, 87, of Windham, N.H., died Sunday March 8, 2015, in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H. She was born in Lawrence, on March 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Ernest and Angelina Laurin, and had been a longtime resident of Derry. Mrs. Rother was the owner of Pillsbury Furniture in Derry, and had also been employed as a licensed real estate agent with Amerifirst. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Hoodkroft Country Club in Derry. Mrs. Rother was a very Christian woman and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Arthur Rother of Derry; three daughters, Diana Kittery and her husband, David of Derry, Laurin Schneyer and her husband, John of Lenoxdale, Mass., and Vickie Chase of Loudon, N.H.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Emile, Conrad, and Lucien Laurin, and sister, Theresa Ferrucci; her first husband, Raymond Buckley; and son-in-law, Donald Chase.
A calling hour was held on Tuesday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes, 15 Birch St., Derry, with a funeral service following at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry at a later date.
