Robert's Story

: Robert S. Knapp, 83, of Chester, husband of Mrs. Alice (Jones) Knapp, died Dec. 3, 2014, at Parkland Medical Center.

He was born in Newark, N.J., April 15, 1931, the son of Charles and Margaret (Snowden) Knapp. He grew up in West Newton, Mass. and had been a resident of Chester since 1965. He was a retired printer. He attended Essex Agricultural School and served four years in the Navy, 1951-1955.

Bob was a vibrant man who loved New Hampshire and living in the country. His interests through the years were history, working on cars, sugaring, forestry, and politics. He was a great story-teller who could entertain us for hours.

Members of the family, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Martha Methot and her husband, Clement, of Manchester, N.H., Anne Love and her husband, John, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Carolyn Legg and her husband, David, of Johnstown, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, 188 Deerfield Road, Candia.
