Robert W.'s Story
Robert W. Emerson, 78, of Loudon, N.H., passed peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, November 11, 2017.
Bob was born in Rochester, N.H. on November 20, 1938, and was raised in Derry, N.H. by his parents, Alfred and Mildred (Fossett) Emerson. Bob recently became a resident of Loudon, N.H. after living in Pembroke for 28 years.
Bob was a government contract negotiator for many years and worked for Sanders Associates, Digital / Hewlett-Packard, and Enterasys. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, and camping with his family. He was a true New England man who loved the mountains and the ocean. Robert also enjoyed various other activities such as bowling and tennis.
Bob is survived by his wife Beverly (Hanson) Emerson; his brother, Alfred Emerson, his three daughters, Dee Ferdinand, Dawn Emerson, and Kristen Brooks; his step-children, Jeff Cathcart and Julie Geary, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his very dear friends, Nita and Don Gilman.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, N.H. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home after additional calling hours from 12 to 1 p.m. The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Cemetery Rd. in Derry.
