BEDFORD, NH: Robert Lewis York, 72, of Bedford, N.H. and Jupiter, Fla. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, following a long illness. Robert was born in Winthrop, Mass., graduated from Winthrop High School, attended Northeastern University and served in the Marine Reserves. Early in his career, he worked at the General Electric, Lynn plant and subsequently became President of Winthrop Electrical Company. Over 30 years ago, he founded JCN Construction Company currently located in Manchester, N.H. and later founded Exhibitions Electrical Company. He enjoyed his beloved German shepherds, was an avid golfer and a real Boston sports fan. In addition to his work, he most of all enjoyed his family and the family gatherings that he and his wife hosted over the years. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Velma York and his son, John Bennett, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Norma (Landry) York; his three sons, Christopher and Jennifer York of Dover, N.H., Steven and Cheryl Bennett of Bedford, N.H., Robert Bennett of Epsom, N.H. and his four daughters, Robin and Alain Boutot of Chester, N.H., Kim and John Carmichael of Jupiter, Fla., Julie Bedard of Jupiter, Fla. and Nicole and Daniel Cotnoir of Epsom, N.H. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren, led by John Jr. and Merissa Bennett of Salem, N.H. and his 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford. Encryptment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Manchester.
