DERRY, NH: Ruth Josephine Fuller, 101 years young, of Derry, N.H., passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, N.H. Born in Swampscott on January 2, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Elizabeth (Liddell) St. Pierre. Ruth grew up and attended schools in the Lynn area.
She later moved to Windham, N.H. for many years, then to Derry, where she lived for 20 years. She loved crafting of all sorts as well as dancing. She told many stories of going with friends, from the factories to the dance pavilions of the day, and dancing to the Big Band music. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Fred Elliot Fuller, and by her daughter, Nancy Bemis.
Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law, Arlene Fuller of Merrimack, N.H.; her son-in-law, Walter Bemis of Nashua, N.H., and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was honored to have many other “family” members, sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as she was adopted and loved by many in her community of caregivers, healthcare providers, local merchants and friends. Ruth was a “people collector," always offering a smile, a story of her early life and counting her blessings for the people whose paths she crossed regularly. She will be missed by all that she touched during her wonderful long life.
A service was held January 2, at Derry Church of the Transfiguration. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
