Ruth Marguerite's Story
Ruth Marguerite Devine, 90, passed away of natural causes on March 9, 2017, while under hospice care in Fort Myers, Fla.
Her grandson, James P. Devine, Jr. of Fort Myers and owner of City Of Palms Carpet Care, gave his grammy a home and became her caregiver and guardian angel during the last two years of her life.
Ruth was the first child born to the late Charles L. Severance of Londonderry, N.H. Ruth's mother, Marguerite Palmer, passed away during childbirth. Ruth would go on to have three brothers and four sisters. All have passed except Nancy Quimby of Hooksett, N.H.
Ruth gave the gift of life to three sons, James P. Devine, deceased, John L. Devine of Las Vegas, and Fredric W. Devine of Hooksett, N.H.., numerous grand and great-grandchildren mourn the loss of their beloved "Grammy", especially grandson, John L. Devine-Coakley II of Bermuda Dunes, Calif.
Ruth was a longtime resident of Derry, N.H. She attended Pinkerton Academy and married a former Pinkerton Academy football star, John Thomas Devine, Jersey #3, whose team was undefeated in 1936.
Ruth was a devoted and loving soulmate to her husband, John, until his death on December 1, 2012.
John's and Ruth's ashes will be placed in the Martin's Cemetery in Hooksett, N.H., following a family gathering in their honor. May they rest in peace forever in the presence of their maker, God Almighty.
