Dr. Warren A. Pillsbury passed away May 16, 2017, at 87 years old. Warren’s humor and gift of storytelling will be missed by his many friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean, whom he was married to for 60 years.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia Lints and her husband, Donald; children, Robert Pillsbury and his wife, Mame Green, Pamela Pillsbury and her companion, Ted Leonard, Jennifer O’Keefe and her husband, Michael; four grandchildren, Kathleen (Erik), Nicole (Matthew), Bryan and Michael Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Emily and Violet.
Warren grew up in Derry, N.H., and attended Pinkerton Academy. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from UNH, Master’s Degree from Florida State University, and Doctorate in Economics from the University of Virginia. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1956 and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
He was a professor of Economics at Lehigh University for 33 years and completed his career as director for the T.L Diamond Center for Economic Education.
Following his retirement, Warren and Jean returned to their home on Beaver Lake where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He continued to explore his interest in metal casting and volunteered at First Parish Church where he founded Keeping In Touch (KIT).
