Charlotte F.'s Story
Charlotte F. Merrill, 88, of Londonderry, N.H., passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at All American Assisted Living in Londonderry.
She was born in Manchester, N.H., on August 24, 1929 a daughter of the late Clinton and Ethel (Platt) Merrill.
Charlotte was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1947, then she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1951 and her Master’s Degree in 1954 from UNH in Zoology. She then attended Simmons College in 1979 and received a Master’s Degree in Library Science. Charlotte retired in 1987 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she worked for 30 years as a Technical Research Associate in the Department of Biology.
Charlotte traveled extensively over the course of her life having visited Countries in six continents. She loved to sail and spend time at the beach as well as in her spare time she enjoyed hiking in New Hampshire and Maine. Charlotte was a supporter of Conservation issues and keeping land unspoiled and undeveloped.
Surviving include three nephews, Charles Merrill, Kenneth Merrill and his wife, Caroline Schulze and Robert Merrill.
