Hampstead - Hampstead - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Erin Averill Hanlon, at the young age of 57.

She died on July 4th in Derry, NH.

Erin met the love of her life, Colin, at Pinkerton Academy in 1986. For 40 years, they built the most beautiful partnership and family. In 1991, Erin graduated from the University of New Hampshire, where she received her Bachelors degree in Hospitality, and made life-long friendships with her Alpha Xi Delta sorority sisters. Erin traveled to Maui, Hawaii after college and Colin followed her soon after. There, they spent 26 beautiful years. She carried her friends Trish, Janna, Lynn, and Chad with her always.

Erin dedicated her life to her children, MaryKate, Emma, and John Michael. She was the proudest mother. Her best friend and sister, Emily, made her laugh the hardest. Some of her fondest memories were made spending time in Georgia with her sister and her nieces, Ella and Hazel. She held us together.

She loved Caspian Lake, maple creamies, her dog Oliver, yellow roses, reading, gardening, learning to quilt, and spending time with her Hampstead friends. We remember her at her happiest: surrounded by Colin and her babies, on the dock in the morning, watching the loons float by on the lake.

There will be a Memorial Service on July 16th, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the La Belle Winery in Derry, NH. All who cared for Erin are invited to attend.
