Derry - Derry - Georgios F. Valvis, 84, of Derry, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.

George was born March 20, 1941 in Piraeus, Greece. He was a son of the late Fotios and Evaggelia Valvis. George was raised in Greece and served in the Greek Navy. He continued his career at sea with the Greek cruise lines. After moving to the United States, he worked at Bishop's Restaurant in Lawrence, MA for several decades. He was a resident of Derry for 44 years. Georgios' greatest joy and pride was his family. He loved life, especially gardening, yardwork, soccer, music, and dancing.

Georgios is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jennifer (Marciano) Valvis, three daughters, Shelley, Evaggelia, and Marie, two grandchildren, Kaile and Codey. He has five siblings, Andreas, Lefteris, Yiannis, Tassia and Maria, all of Piraeus, Greece.

Private graveside services will be held by the family in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 111 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
