James Robert
Sandown, NH - James Robert "Bob" Ellis 85, of Sandown, N.H., and formerly of Derry, N.H., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, after a long illness.
Bob was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on May 23, 1934, to the late Charles and Martha Ellis. He attended Lawrence grammar schools and Central Catholic High School. Bob held many jobs before his career at Raytheon Service Company in Massachusetts and El Paso, Texas, from which he retired after 32 years.
Bob was an avid car buff and enjoyed collecting model cars for many years. He enjoyed going to auto races at Pines Speed Way, Hudson Speedway and Lee Raceway. While in El Paso, Bob enjoyed his motor home and boat and spent many weekends at Elephant Butte Lake in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and many, many road trips in between. Like many New Englanders Bob was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers Bill and Frank; his daughter Debra Ellis Trotter; granddaughter Uriah Trotter; and his son James Robert Ellis.
Bob leaves his wife of 48 years Denyce (Valliere); daughter Barbara Ellis Fraser and her husband Mike of Ossipee, N.H.; daughter Paula Ellis Heard Poole and her husband Billy of New Jersey; and his son Jim and his wife JJ of Austin, Texas. He also leaves six grandchildrenl; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him.
Cremation was performed by the Phaneauf Funeral Home in Manchester, N.H.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Mill Pine Village Community Hall in Sandown, N.H., on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 1 to 5 p.m., for anyone who would like to pay their respects to the family.
