Malcolm R. Stone Obituary

Chester - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Malcolm R. Stone (Malsy to many, Ace to many more) on December 16, 2025 in Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH after a short illness. Malcolm was born on January 9, 1934 in Boston, MA, a son of the late Edward M. Stone and Edith C. (Snelling) Stone.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Diane Lucas, four children; Daniel and wife Sue Stone of Millis, MA, Barbara Ann and husband, Robert Schaeffer of Vermont, Diane Stone and husband David of East Hampstead, NH, and Christopher Stone of Chester, NH, four grandchildren; Alexis (Tyler) Daley of Pembroke, NH, Austin (Kaylie) Pereira of Dover, NH, Jaime Stone and Julius Stone both of Millis, MA. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his first wife Judy Koch, his second wife, Barbara V. Stone, daughter, Elizabeth O'Mara, and son, Michael D. Stone.

He had many passions in his life, especially motorcycles – mainly the Vincent Black Shadow – and motorcycle racing. He bowled for many years, trying hard to get their average over 80! Sundays, he used his phone to keep up with the New England Patriots, his favorite football team. If he wasn't watching TV, he was reading – a lot! He was a machinist who started a successful machine shop, Custom Machine in Woburn, MA with his partner Cosmo Pasciuto, and in 1980 Stone Machine with his partner Frank Camillieri in Chester, NH which is still going strong. He retired at 84. He was a hard-working, helpful, kindhearted man who liked to tell awful jokes and wear crazy T-shirts.

While working many hours at the machine shop, he also served as a Selectman in the Town of Chester, NH.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a time of sharing to begin at 4 p.m. at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. To send a condolence, please visit www.peabodyfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favorite charities – St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and the ASPCA.
