Mary L. Reis
January 19, 1937 - April 25, 2025
Londonderry - Mary Louise (Heidel) Reis, 88, of Londonderry, NH, went home to her Savior on April 25, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.
She was born in Omro, WI on January 19, 1937, to Paul Herman and Louise Caroline (Lee) Heidel. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary's family was the most precious thing to her.
Mary was the Valedictorian of Omro High School's Class of 1955. After devoting many years to lovingly raising her children, she earned a BA from the University of New Hampshire in 1976, and a Master of Social Work from Boston University in 1979. She then began a long career in social work and hospital administration, beginning at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. While there, she received the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award and the NH Women's Federation of Professional and Business Clubs Woman of the Year Award, both in 1981. After a long career, Mary retired from Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough. She remained active in retirement, serving in many capacities at the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, as well as creating many beautiful quilts for her family.
Mary is now reunited with the love of her life and husband of 51 years George C Reis.
Surviving to cherish her memory are: her four children Julie Woodard and her husband John of Green Valley, AZ; Katherine Tryon and her husband Roger of Monterey, MA; Karen Reis of Cumming, GA; and Paul Reis and his wife Karen of Candia, NH; nine grandchildren: Leigh McCullough (Simon Topliss) of Bourbonnais, IL; Tyler Woodard (Caitrin Smith) of Cortez, CO; Ryan Woodard of Bourbonnais, IL; Matthew Mallalieu (Alexa) of Flowery Branch, GA; Michelle Mallalieu Chaffin of Warm Springs, GA; Paul Mallalieu (Ashley) of Cumming, GA; Seth Mallalieu (Anna) of Athens, GA; Michael Dixey (Kolby) of Chester, NH; and Carley Reis (Chris Freeman) of Hales Corner, WI; sister Phyllis Kintopf (Doug) of Oshkosh, WI; and sister-in-law Patricia Jackson (Harold) of Leesburg, FL; 10 great-grandchildren, Reis, Rhett and Zeke Mallalieu; Elle, Selah and Everly Mallalieu; Killian and Adeline Mallalieu; and Marley and Malcolm Dixey.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary's memory to the Memorial Gifts Fund, Union Congregational Church, 33 Concord St, Peterborough, NH 03458.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
