Newburyport, MA — Robert “Bob” Aganski died on November 15, 2013, at the Kindred/Brigham Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport, MA. He was born on July 4, 1922, in North Tonawanda, NY, as a first generation American. He served in the merchant marines and then attended Niagara University, played varsity football, and earned a B.S. degree in social science in 1950.


Bob worked for the Veterans Administration at hospitals in Albany, NY, White River Junction, VT, Jamaica Plains, MA, and Manchester, NH. His wife, Lillian (Pouliopoulos), died in 1981.


Bob enjoyed golf, bowling, singing, and RVing.


He is survived by his wife, Beryl (Lucas Wood) of West Newbury, MA; as well as his daughter, Martha of Gadsden, AL; his son, Paul and his wife, Linda (Shepherd), of West Newbury, MA; and his grandchildren, Seth, Moriah, Eliza, and Rachel.


Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made in Bob’s honor to All Saints’ Anglican Church, 67 Friend Street, Amesbury, MA, or All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 895 Main Street, West Newbury, MA.
